Today’s mani was inspired by W7’s Lava Flow nail polish
More after the jump…
It’s small red and black glitter in a white base, though it does need to be layered over a white base to work properly, but it creates a nice jelly sandwich effect.
I then picked out two features about it – the polka dots, and the glitter. The polka dots became the designs on my middle finger and thumb – two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, with dots of Nails Inc New York Noir and King Edward Street, applied using a dotting tool. I wanted them to be fairly irregular as polka dots go, because Lava Flow clearly isn’t very regular either. The glitter aspect of the polish became the ring finger, an accent nail. It was one coat of King Edward Street, followed by two coats of Miss Sporty Oh My Gem! Gorgeous Red, which gives a lovely depth. Finally, it was all topped with a coat of Seche Vite.
